Week 2:Defining Creativity

“Creativity is the process of bringing something new into being...creativity requires passion and commitment. Out of the creative act is born symbols and myths. It brings to our awareness what was previously hidden and points to new life. The experience is one of heightened consciousness–ecstasy.”
— Rollo May, The Courage to Create

"I define creativity as the act of turning new and imaginative ideas into reality. Creativity involves two processes: thinking, then producing. Innovation is the production or implementation of an idea. If you have ideas, but don't act on them, you are imaginative but not creative."
-Linda Naiman, What is Creativity?

Both of these quotation share 1 similiarity, which is creativity means bringing something new to the table, thinking out of the box and pushing the envelope while creating something out of nothing. Being creative is having the ability to imagine or create something new that leads to a better life and if we don't take action on the creative ideas, they are just plain imaginative not creative.

Creativity is a crucial element in almost every professions. Not being creative make a person less competitive and slowly being stepped over by others from the same profession.

Some says that being creative is a trait we are born with while others say it can be taught.
