Defining innovation, invention and novelty

Based on Wikipedia, Novelty is the quality of being new. Novelty can be something that is so unusual and avant garde that nobody has seen it before. Novelty is important in designing because it brings a freshness and uniqueness to the product.

Innovation is the specific instrument of entrepreneurship... the act that endows resources with a new capacity to create wealth.

Innovation can be define as creating something new out of something old or a new way of doing something. It can be something big or small, brand new or just a bit differences, as long as it is different from the original product, we can call it innovation. All in all, the purpose of innovation is just to make good things better.

An invention is a new composition, device, or process. An invention may be derived from a pre-existing model or idea, or it could be independently conceived in which case it may be a radical breakthrough.

Invention means creating something that never really exist that can really bring an impact to the society. Inventive thinking is vital through out the whole creative process, so that the inventor can create something unique and will surprise the audience.
